Show Reading tutoring available Applications are now being accepted by the Southern Utah State College Reading Center for children who need special tutoring in reading, spelling and mathematics. The application ap-plication deadline for spring quarter programs is March 2. "Children from 7 to 17 years of age will be accepted ac-cepted into the program," said Kent E. Myers, reading center director, "and in some cases, adult applications will also be considered." Information about the reading clinic is available by calling 586-4411, extension ex-tension 293, or by visiting the center offices in Old Main 102. "If a child is having difficulty with reading, spelling or math, we encourage parents to take advantage ad-vantage of the diagnostic and remediation procedures provided by the clinic," Dr. Myers said. Over 200 students have received professional tutoring in the clinic to date. "Since the program began, we've been very pleased with the results, both in rtumber of individual clients helped, and with the opportunities afforded af-forded SUSC students involved in the teaching process." Only 20 students will be accepted into the clinic spring quarter. |
