Show Drive successful raffle tickets. She spent hours on the phone from her wheel chair selling the tickets. The success of the bake sale was largely due to the donations of ladies from the 5th and 10th Wards. A total of $978.71 was raised recently by Cedar Manor residents and staff to contribute to the Heart Fund. Of that, $360 was raised via the Los Her-manos Her-manos Roller Palace. "We especially want to thank the Hermanson's for donating their time, talent and facilities for this worthy cause," said Mrs. Mabel Meldrum, recreation director. The rest of the money was raised through an employees dinner, raffling raf-fling off macrame tickets and a bake sale. One of the "really fun" activities was kidnapping the mayor and holding him for ransom. Mrs. Meldrum added a special thanks to Mayor Jack Sawyers for being such a good sport and cooperating with the kidnapping plan. Karen Holand, Beryl, was the winner of the beautiful macrame.
