Show Scouts plan awards dinner received the NESA Silver Wreath Award in 1980, from the National Eagle Scout Association. He has received the Alumni Distinguished Service award from BYU in 1980, and has received the Citizen of the Year Award from the Provo Chamber of Commerce, also in 1980. He and Mrs. Sorensen reside in Provo, and are the parents of four children. BYU. He has been president of the Utah Technical College since 1949. He has seen that school grow to the new beautiful campus that is located in Orem. He also has many affiliations with educational and civic groups. He is presently co-chairman of the Citizens to Save Geneva Steel and has been president of the Provo Chamber of Commerce. Sorensen received the Silver Beaver Award from the Utah National Parks Council in 1973. He National Parks Council and president of the Utah Technical College on the Provo and Orem campuses cam-puses will be the special speaker for the evening. He will also install the district officers of the Cedar Breaks District for 1981. Sorensen was born on Aug. 8, 1916, in Draper. He graduated from Jordon High School, and went on to receive a B.S. degree in Industrial Education in 1940. He received a M. Ed. degree in Educational Administration Ad-ministration in 1973 from The Cedar Breaks District of the Utah National Parks Council will hold its annual Recognition and Awards Assembly Saturday at the Cedar North Stake Center at 7:30 p.m. This annual event is held to recognize the leaders on the district level as well as on the unit level who give dedicated leadership and service to the scouting program and to the young men of the area. Two District Award of Merit and five Second Miler Awards recipients will highlight the awards for the evening. All scouters and their partners are invited to this special event. Refreshments will be served after the Awards Assembly. Members of Troop 375, Cedar 15th Ward, will present the colors, and the Cedar 6th Ward will provide the refreshments after the meeting. The Awards Assembly Committee has been chaired by Rett Shakespear, district vice-chairman, vice-chairman, along with Kent Hugh, . Joseph Bishop, LaMar Jensen, Robert Linford and Daniel L. Lynch.
