Over 112 men have been employed on the work since the third of May. The majority of these have been working out their water rents. Sixty-three men are working on the job at the present time. Dr. George Knowlton of the USAC ExperimentStation and cooperative and the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Insect Control called on the County Agent, E. Peterson, last Monday in the interest of his work. Dr. Knowlton is especially interested in the control of grasshoppers which usually become a serious problem follwing a dry season such as we had last year. It is hope that everyone will keep a careful lookout for any outbreak of this pest and report it immediately to the County Agent so if any help is to be furnished by the government, the people of this county can get in their bids for this assistance at this time. |
