Show Didn't like the food Dear Editor: This is a letter of complaint regarding a restaurant in our good city. Several of us went to lunch and decided to try the newly done log restaurant going west out of Vernal. I ordered a BLT and the others ordered the special of the day which was chicken and dumplings. The bacon on the BLT was burnt and the French fries were raw. The chicken and dumplings were served cold, also tasted like they were out of a can and the dumplings were not done. When the waitress arrived back at the table, we informed her of the food. She ignored us and left our table. Later when she returned, we again told her the food was inedible and she stated "if we didn't like the food here, not to come back." She then walked off. This was certainly a public embarassrhent to us, especially with other people around. We quickly got up, paid our bill and left. As we were getting in our vehcile a gray haired large man came up to us and said that the waitress had said that we had mistreated her. We explained the situation to him; at which he stated that "if we didn't like the food not to come back." I stated that the waitress had made the same remark and that we certainly would not return. I find it appalling that a restaurant with this attitude in VernaL I have been to the many other restaurants in the area to eat lunch with friends and have never been so mistreated or embarassed. We as business people go to lunch almost daily as part of our day. We go to get out of the office and enjoy a peaceful lunch with friends, not to be insulted, ignored and embarassed by a waitress, or eat inedible food. A ROSE DAVIS |
