Show Jensen Unit not cut in budget Good news for Utah water projects came late Monday from Sen. Jake Garn, R-Utah. Utah's senior senator said he had been advised by "a highly placed source" that the Reagan administration ad-ministration has recommended more . than $110 million for Utah water projects for fiscal 1982. The revised budged calls for $67,700,000 for the Bonneville Unit of the Central Utah Project. This is $1,000,000 more than was in the first Reagan budget and only a $3,000,000 cut from the $70,000,000 asked for in January by the outgoing Carter administration. The new budget also contains $8,752,000 for the Jensen unit of CUP which represents no cut in its budget. The senator said he also learned there was $3,556,000 in the new budget for the Ilyrum project, located in Utah near the Idaho border. Sen. Garn said he regarded the CUP as "tolerable" and somewhat less than had been feared. |
