Show Zfzjfcfz By Teresa Smith Mark Mobley elected as student of the month Mark Mobley, a, senior at Uintah High School, has been selected student for the month of March. Mark is one of the top students academically at UHS. Hs has carried a 3.94 G.P.A. for hte three years in high school. This means that in the 20 or 30 classes he has taken, he has earned an 'A' in all but one. Mark has received his impressive grades in the school's most difficult and challenging classes. It would be wrong to assume that Mark is a "book worm". He was elected Senior Class President and is one of the most popular and respected members of his class. He is a member of the executive council and helped with the planning of homecoming, Christmas, Christ-mas, and many other activities. Mark was on the whitewash crew; captain of the all-star basketball team which recently defeated the faculty team in a school assembly; and is a member of the good wrench club, a group for students interested in cars and auto mechanics. After graduation, Mark plans to enter USU in Logan to study mechanical engineering. Because of his academic work, Mark is a top candidate for several scholarships. He has . taken advantage of Uintah's college classes on campus and as a result, is well into his freshman year of college study. When not in school, Mark enjoys 4-wheeling, 4-wheeling, fishing or camping. His favorite sport is basketball. He works after school at Rig Service as a mechanic. Mark's family moved here from Texas. He is the son of Ray and Dixie Mobley. Mark is active in his church and has served as the president of the Young Lutheran's League. |
