Show Hospital administrator response Dear Jack: I would like to take this opportunity to express appreciation for your recent coverage of the Uintah County Hospital sale to HCA. It is important to provide the community with facts not fiction. Your coverage was factual and provided the reader with details. I am proud of the hospital, its staff, physicians and the service it provides to this community. Health care is demanding and has many variables, some controllable and unfortunately, some not controllable. When patients seek service and healing, they come to the hospital and as such, we see people in pain and discomfort. Naturally, the service received will not always be understood by the patient, and even considered of poor quality. That is of upmost concern to us in the health care industry. The staff of hospitals really do care and put forth every effort to provide patient care and comfort. Health care and the costs of it will always prompt controversial discussions. Health care in Vernal is no exception. The months to come in regarding tne sale of the hospital will be full of political toned discussion, fiction will be mixed with fact, emotionalism will even play a part. The issues of quality health care, healthy delivery progress, growth, financial committment and service are but a few types of discussion which will surface. The real question that needs to be answered is what is in the best interest of the county, citizens and community in regards to the health service in Uintah County. I believe the Commissioners Com-missioners have best addressed this issue in the recent ordinance, appearing ap-pearing in your paper. The ordinance is for selling to HCA. I believe it is in everyone's best interest. Again, let me thank you for the recent coverage and for future factual coverage. Sincerely, RONALD J. PERRY, Administrator |
