Show which is a tender and beautiful story of Two artists display work at library This month's display at the Uintah County Library will be provided by Letitia Suzette Voyles and Ella Mae Soelberg. An artist reception is planned for March 14 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The public is invited. Letitia Voyles is a native of Ogdon. She has been a Vernal resident since 19f)0. Through the encouragement of her father, Earl Voyles, early in her life she became interested in art. Earl is an artist and operates his own illustrative business throughout the state of Oregon. Letitia has been involved in art during her school years and college. She attended Ricks College in Idaho for two years, obtaining an associate of arts degree in 1973. Her major field of study was deaf education. After receiving her degree, she transf erred her college credits to I'rovo to attend BYU. While living in Provo, she published a cartoon strip series in the newspaper. During this time Letitia became heavily involved with illustrative art. It was at this time she changed her major to commercial art. Her favorite mediums are pen and ink and watercolors. Her goals are to finish school and to estahlish herself as, a commercial artist and free-lance illustrator. Later she would like to advance into illustrating for children's books. Ella Mae Soellxrg is a Naples resident. She was born in Michigan. After three years in the Army, she moved to Utah to go to BYU. She finished her degree in professional genealogy at BYU, then joined her husband in Vernal. She has enjoyed drawing and painting all of her life. Ella Mae has won many awards at school and had additional training in cold type photo process printing, TV and :trmin slide aspect ratios, fundamentals fun-damentals of layout, paste up and color contrasts while in the Army. Most of Ella's suhjtvts are real life rather than abstract. Her favorite mediums are pencil and watercolor. |
