Show Former resident made VP of consulting firm CH2M HILL, an international consulting con-sulting firm of -engineers, planners, economists, and scientists, has named two Idaho firm members to key positions in its Central District. Vernal native David K. Bennion has been named a Vice President and Boise Regional Manager. The appointment was announced by Earl C. Reynolds, Jr., Chairman of the Board of CH2M HILL and central district manager. As Boise Regional Manager, David K. Bennion is responsible for the firm's operations in Idaho, Utah and Montana as well as portions of Washington, Oregon and Nevada. Bennion was previously manager of the Boise office's structural division, and was responsible for the administration ad-ministration and technical excellence of projects in that division. In his 11 years with CH2M Hill, Bennion's 'project involvement has spanned a broad spectrum of engineering expertise, ex-pertise, including A-E facility designs, bridge designs, water and wastewater treatment facilities, fish hatcheries, and power transmission lines as well as major structural designs. Projects managed by Bennion include in-clude design of award-winning bridges in 180 N for the Idaho Department of Transportation, A-E engineering for nuclear support facilities of Argonne National Laboratory-West at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, and site development and building design, for Intermountain Gas Company's liquefied natural gas facility in Boise. Bennion, a Vernal native, is the son of Mrs. Leland (Bea) Bennion. CH2M Hill's work recently completed in the Vernal area includes a water requirement and facility study for Ashley Valley. That project involved a siting study for a 15-million-gallon-per-day water treatment plant. Bennion, who holds a master's degree in structural engineering from Utah State University, is a registered engineer. He was a recipient of the Idaho "Outstanding Young Engineer" award in 1976. He is currently president of the Southwest Idaho chapter of the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers, and is a past president of the Structural Engineers Association of Idaho. Bennion is also a member of the American Concrete Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers and Consulting Engineers of Idaho. |
