Show Beaux Arts Club have guest from Salt Lake City The Beaux Arts Club met at the home of Lottie Stringham last Wednesday. A special guest present was Freda Davis of Salt Lake City, a former member of . the group. The program on "American Patriots" was presented by Marsale Siddoway. She defined a patriot as one who has a love and loyalty for his homeland, one who not only loves his country but also will defend its liberty. . She then discussed several American presidents who are considered great, and explained that much of their strength was founded on their faith in God. From an article "The Perfect President" by Dr. Eugene Burdick, she quoted the desirable attributed which an ideal president should have. A group of learned men who evaluated the presidents according to those standards stan-dards had placed at the top of their list : Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Refreshements were then served by the hostess. The next meeting will be at the home of Pearl Snyder on Nov. 5. |
