ELIZABETH MASSEY Elizabeth Massey honored by Vernal service Funeral services for Elizabeth Maud Orgil Massey, 96, who died Oct. 13, 1980, were in the Vernal Seventh Ward 'Chapel Thursday, Oct. 16. Mrs. Massey was born in Wellington, Utah to Mark and Rachel Smith Orgill, Feb. 25, 1884. She married George Ova Massey Sept. 19, 1906 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Aug. 28, 1960. She was a member of the LDS Church, former primary president and Relief Society teacher and counselor. Howard Carroll, a grandson, gave the family prayer, and Bishop Kenneth Anderton conducted the funeral service. ser-vice. "Whispering Hope" was sung by Dorothy Peltier and Daun White accompanied ac-companied by Melba Eaton. The invocation in-vocation was given by Michael Massey. Following remarks by Bishop Anderton, An-derton, Ralph Olsen, a grandson, spoke. "God's Other Room" was sung by Lois Erickson and Marva Lent accompanied by Melba Eaton. W. Lamond Tullis spoke followed by Dorothy Peltier and Daun White who sang "How Great Thou Art" accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Eaton. Blaine Murray, a grandson-in-law, gave the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was played by Linda M. Stubbs, a granddaughter. DeVere Carroll dedicated the grave. She was buried in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons, George O. Massey Jr., Ira W. Massey, Ferrell A. Massey, Floyd. L.- Massey, Julian A. Massey and Valda D. Massey. Survivors are sons and daughters, Mrs. Evelyn McNaughton of Vernal; Mrs. Enoch (Elva) Stewart of Murray; Mrs. DeVere (Golda) Carroll of Vernal ; George O. Jr. of Springville, Utah; Ira W. of Jensen; Ferrell A. of Orem; Mrs. Richard (Arthella) Pierson of Huntington Hun-tington Park, Calif.; Floyd L. and Julian A. both of Jensen; Valda D. of Vernal, and Mrs. Gorden (Ilella) McKinlay of Teton City, Idaho; 37 grandchildren ; 89 great grandchildren ; six great great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie McGuire .of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Ethel Webb and Mrs. Dora Webb both of Heber City, Utah. |
