Show CITIZENS GET CHANCE TO SHOW SYMPATHY Benefit for French Soldiers of Class 2" Will Offer Opportunity for Help. Something of the heartache of France is to be shared by Salt Lake citizens tonight. They are to be given opportunity to know of the plight of a class of French soldiers who, having given all, yet live on to be daily evidence of the ruthlessness of the Huns. They are the "Class 2" casualties. Their injuries, though disabling, dis-abling, are not such as to entitle them to pensions under the law of France. How they came to be broken men who went forth in the strength of highhearted high-hearted courage and vigorous health is portrayed in screen pictures to be exhibited ex-hibited at the Salt Lake theater. More than 1500 views of the battle zone at the time of devastation and disaster will be presented. Sale of tickets for the exhibition has been in progress for the past week, being be-ing handled by prominent men and women of the city who have been won to sympathy sym-pathy for the unfortunate soldiers of France who come under the classification named. They are those whose injuries are peculiar to the innovations of warfare, war-fare, men rendered helpless lor life by shell shock, gas poisoning or other calamity. ca-lamity. All of the proceeds from the entertainment entertain-ment go to a fund to be used for the benefit of the soldiers in question. The expense of showing the pictures in this country, advertising them and all other costs incident to the undertaking is being be-ing borne by philanthropic citizens of France. The pictures shown are exclusive ex-clusive views of graphic scenes, done in natural colors. The Salt Lake theater has been given over to the use of the occasion free of charge. |
