Show LOCAL BOARDS ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE Accountable for Soldiers Released From Military Camps on Farming Farm-ing Furloughs. CAMP LEWIS, Tacoma, Wash., May il.ISvery local board bn all the states .-ending selected men to Camp Lewis will from now on be held responsible for the soldiers released from the cantonment through the military exemption board or farming furloughs. This action was primarily brought about because of complaints reaching division di-vision headquarters that some of the men who had obtained agricultural furloughs fur-loughs were not putting In their time ux agreed In planting and other work upon the farms to which they were assigned. as-signed. As a result, each local board is now supplied with a notice from the camp exemption board giving the name of the soldier to whom the furlough Is granted, the duration of the furlough and the farm upon which the soldier Is to work. Interest of the folks at home in the welfare and comfort of the soldier at camp, shown by sending him candy and cakes, sweaters, socks and other comforts, com-forts, and Invitations to parties or entertainment en-tertainment in private homes, is commended com-mended in a statement authorized today bMajor Genera!
