URGE LOAN INTEREST FOR SAVINGS STAMPS Thrift Officials Would Have Bondholders Reinvest $642,000. War savings officials of Utah point out the fact that as the government today will pay Utah holders of second Liberty loan bonds about $642,000 in interest, the receivers of this money can do a patriotic patri-otic service to their state and country by immediately investing it in thrift stamps. The officials urge that this investment would not only help the courftry materially, materi-ally, but would do much toward helping Utah raise its quota of war savings subscriptions. sub-scriptions. Last night at the Commercial club there was a general meeting of war savings chairmen from every portion of Utah, at which the state officials of the thrift campaign cam-paign explained to them the Nebraska plan, to be put into operation at once to insure the state's quota by June 28. There were about 100 chairmen and officials of-ficials of the war aavings movement present pres-ent and there was much enthusiasm expressed ex-pressed in the plan as submitted by George T. Odell, state director, and James W. Collins, state chairman. The Nebraska plan, which calls for securing se-curing the state's quota by pledge within with-in a given time and the collection of the pledges during the remainder of the year, was decided upon for adoption in all the states at a meeting last week in Omaha and attended by all state chairmen and directors of middle and western states. The plan has been carefullv and elaborately elabo-rately worked out by Mr. Odell and Mr. Collins to fit conditions in Utah, and the details of its operations were explained to the chairmen at the meeting last night.
