Show RED CROSS DRIVE PROBLEMS THEME OF ROTARY CLUB S-ome of the issues confronting the Red Cross in its drive to raise $300,000 in Utah were submitted to the Salt Lake Rotary club yesterday at its luncheon by H. M. Byrne of the Red Cross, for an expression of opinion from the organization. Mr Bvrnc explained that of the $500,000 which is Utah's allotment. Salt Lake must raise $350,000. He said he wanted an expression from the club in relation to certain problems. The first of these was whether foreign for-eign corporations doing business here should turn their entire subscription through the home office, or the state get credit for that of the local branch. The unanimous- opinion was that the state was entitled to credit for the local hranidi contribution. It was also the opinion of the club that the corporation subscription should not cover the individual subscription of the stockholder. As to whether or not names of persons refusing to subscribe sub-scribe to the Red Cross should be published, pub-lished, the club took the stand that they should. Mr. Byrne explained that he though; the committee, could determine punishment punish-ment of a person not subscribing in proportion to his means. The club was also of tlie opinion that the state should not stop at simply 'getting its (Uota but should oxceed it. |
