Show VETERANS MARCH IN MILITARY PAGEANT San Francisco Sees March of Detachment Detach-ment of Fighters Recently From the Front. SAN FRANCISCO, May 14. The world war came closer to San Francisco today. On Market street, busiest artery in the city's busilie&s system, t he usually unbroken un-broken procession of traffic of commerce gave way to American soldiers from the Presidio, who wore the first steel trench helmets seen here. Detachments of Canadian Ca-nadian veterans, French poilus and Belgian Bel-gian infantrymen, a group of men in civilian clothing who were recently recruited re-cruited by the British mission and a few scattered Italians who had served against the Austrians also appeared. The parade was part of a programme arranged to honor several hundred refugee refu-gee Belgian and Italian officers and enlisted en-listed men who were in Russia at the time the Bolshevik government made peace with Germany, and were here today on their way back to the western front.
