Show COLONEL G. F. COOK PAINFULLY INJURED Eetlred Army Officer Is Bun Down by au Automobile; Driver of Car Is Held. Colonel George F. Cook, United States arniv, retired, who lives at the Peery hotel, received painful injuries shortly after 8 o'clock last night, when he was struck by an automobile driven by W. Bowman, chauffeur for the Salt Lake Transportation company, at Second South and West Temple streets. Colonel Cook's injuries are not serious, but he suffered considerable pain and had to be helped to his apartments. He was treated at the emergency hospital for lacerations of the face and hands and a badlv bruised hip. Bowman who the police say was driving driv-ing at a speed of at least thirty miles an hour, was arrested, but no charge will be placed against him until the extent ex-tent of Colonel Cook's injuries is ascertained. ascer-tained.
