Show PLAN FINANCIAL AID FOR ENTENTE POWERS Assistance to Ee Given In Case of War With Germany Considered by Washington. WASHINGTON, .March 22. Plans for rendering financial assistance to the entente allies in case of war between the United States and Germany are under un-der consideration, informally, ny federal reserve board and other government officials. of-ficials. I Two courses are said to have been presented; pre-sented; one, the opening of general credits to entente governments in this country by individual banks to a greater extent than heretofore; the other, official of-ficial action by the United States government gov-ernment in placing a large sum at tho disposal of the entente. Should the latter lat-ter course bo adopted it is thought probable the government would raise the sum desired by a bond issue to be designated for that purpose, the proceeds pro-ceeds to be loaned as needed to France, Great Britain and probably other entente en-tente governments. Plans are said to be still in a formative forma-tive stage and may not be definitely shaped until after congress convenes April 2. |
