The opening was 7 to 10 points higher and active months sold 9 to 14 points above liiGt night's closing figures during the middle of the day, with July touching S.Odc and December S.-lOc. Buying by Wall street houses was believed to be partly for European account, and there was a further scattering demand which was attributed at-tributed to the more optimistic view of pence prospects. Trade interests were sellers later on increased estimates of the Brazilian crop, following recent rains, with December selling off to 8.23c. The market closed 1 to 3 points net higher.
