Show Buck W eaver, Former Salt Lake Cadier, Dyin in Denver. A. C. WEAVER. V- Special to The Tribune. TjiENVER, March 22. A. C. (Buck) Weaver, weil known in Salt Lake City as the former manager of that city's club in the Union association, is dying at St. Joseph's hospital here, according to a telcphdne message late tonight. He has been a sufferer from asthma for several sev-eral years, and it is hardly likely that he will recover. Oxygen is being administered adminis-tered tonight by his physicians. Weaver was very popular, not only in the Western West-ern league, but throughout the west. He was a phenomenal catcher when with the Denver Bears, and always maintained a high batting average. He was sold by Denver to Salt lako In.- 1912 and has a batting record of .382 in that club, of which he was manager. Ho finally returned re-turned to Denver on account of his affliction af-fliction and has been out of the game for four years. |
