Show FIX CAPACITY OF BOXES FOR BERRIES Strict enforcement of the law relative to standard capacity of berry boxes during dur-ing the coming berry season has been decided de-cided upon by the weights and measures departments of the state, Palt Lake and Ogden. At a conference held between Walter N. Boyden, state dairy and food commissioner; commission-er; 'P: L. Irvine, sealer of weights and measures of Salt Lake, and Commissioner Shorten of health and sanitation of Og- j den, it was decided that the provisions of the law relative to the cubic-inch capacity and the weight of contents of berry boxes must be strictly enforced. The law provides that a quart berry box must have a capacity of 67.2 cubic Inches and must contain 21 ounces of fruit. A pint box must have 33-6 cubic Inches capacity and 10.5 ounces. Mr. Boyden announced yesterday that the dealers show an inclination to com- , ply with the law In every respect and he does not anticipate trouble on thia score. |
