Show PRINCESS ALICE TO BE PARADE FEATURE Pachyderm Among Attractions of Public Pub-lic March Preceding Deseret Gym-odronie Gym-odronie Performance. Princess Alice is to pay the business district of Salt Lake a visit, according to present plans, which only the weatlier man can interfere with. The parade committee for the Deseret Gym-odrome Gym-odrome has received the consent of the city oflicials to have the community elephant, from Liberty park take part in the parade to be held at noon next Wednesday. The only stipulation is that the weather must be favorable. Princpsa Alice will be accorded the place of honor in the parade and will have a special escort. Tho street department has agreed to furnish four of the city's new water wagons in response to a requeat from E. y. Woodruff, chairman of the parade committee. Just what the wagons will be used for the committee refused to divulge, bnt a hint has been given that there is some couuection between the water wagons and the operation of the prohibition law after August 1. The large steam roller owned by tho city will also be used if in condition by that time. Permission has been requested by Chief of Police White for some unusual un-usual performances on the street during dur-ing the parade and immediately preceding pre-ceding it, as well as a permit for an open air performance at South Temple and Main street following the parade. A performer has been engaged to make a "slide for life" from the roof garden gar-den of the Hotel Utah to the street, and if proper arrangements can be mado this will be a feature of the open air performance. The four Zeppelins Zep-pelins and ten big gas balloons have arrived from the east and will be used to advertise the parade and the main show. |
