Preliminary estimates, based upon reports re-ports compiled bv the United States geological geo-logical survey, show the flow of the Oreen river as 5,!ll),0tll acre feet and the Grand river as 6,-100,000 for the year, up to November 1. On the Grand I river it is estimated that 47,100 acres could be reclaimed in Utah through the construction of the proposed Colorado I river project. On the Green river the acreage that would be reclaimed is estimated es-timated at 4nu,00t acres and the project proj-ect also would serve 10S.."00 in Utah along tile Colorado, below the junction ; of the Grand and the Green rivers. i The reclamation service, according to K. A. Porter, district engineer of the ; geological survey for Utah, is making surveys to determine what construction work would be required. The plans contemplate con-template the construction of a reservoir at Bridgeport. Utah, on Green river, northeast of Vernal, which would store 3.0(1(1,000 H.'ro feet of water. |
