Students of the Osden City school and also private- and aiato schools in the city have been asked by the Onden branch of the Manufacturer' association to join in an essay contest, which is to close on Friday eveninK. November No-vember 1'.'. The plans for t ho contest will be brought to the attention of the children todav by Superintendent .John M. .Mills, who hfts given hearty approval to ttie smccostlnn. The winners will later read their essays at a.nieettng In the Og-don Og-don tabernacle. The arrangement for this contest makes t'.ree sepuralo conditions open to the Un-den Un-den students. The one is the state essay contest, for grade school students; another an-other is the Osden contest for the ten best reasons for using I'tah-made goods; the last is the local cseay contest. Four prizes are to be awarded by the local committee of Judges, who will con-aider con-aider all the essays submitted by the htnh school, Weber academy and high school section of the Utah State School for the Deaf and Blind, and alio two essays from each grade class. The chief prize will be to the high school section, for essays of not more than loful words. gdd watches being offered.
