Show SENTENCED TO JAIL. Thre Young Mn Convicted of Attempt- (no to Make Away with Auto. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Nov. 9. Fifteen days in the countv Jail without pic usual alternative of paving flne-s was the sentence pronounced pro-nounced by Judge W. II. Heeder this morning after Hubert "Wheelwright. George Cowliehaw and John Spencer had been convicted on the charge of attempting attempt-ing to steal an automobile belonging to J. G. Read. The alleged offente was committed com-mitted last Saturday night. According to the owner of the car, he had left his machine on Twenty-fourth street in front of the Read Hrothera store early Saturday evening. When he returned a few minutes later he. found the three voung men in tho machine. He testified that they had started the motor and would have driven the car away had he not stepped in front of the vhiele. It was on the recommendation of the countv attorney that Judge Reeder pronounced pro-nounced jail sentences for the young men without giving them the opportunity to pay fines. |
