Show PROMOTING CLEANLINESS. Child-Culture Club Members Protest Against Burning Leaves In Streets. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN", Nov. 9. In response to the protest of fifty members of the Child-culture Child-culture rJub. the city oommissionors today instructed fthe city attorney to draft an ordinance prohibiting the burning of leaves or other rubbish in the streets of Ogden. The attorney, according to the instructions instruc-tions of the .board, will Include the new ordinance in the revised code, which is now being printed In book form. According to (the petition. signed by ever member of the club, the practice, of burning the season's accumulation of leaves Is not oniv unsightly, but decidedly unhealthv. In that, the smudgo (thus created cre-ated fills the otherwise clear air with an offensive vapor. The club members relate in their petition that the city provides wagons for disposal of all rubbish from the streets and hey recommend that this plan be followed instead of that uf burning the leaves. |
