CRUSHED TO DEATH. Joseph H. Hanson Caught and Killed In a Cave-In. Special to The Tribune. KURRKA. Nov. 9. .Joseph II. Hanson. ."0 years of age, was crushed to death at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon following a blast in a lease in the Mammoth mine. Hanson, who was one of the owners of the lease, was examining the ore In a stope on, the lease just after a round of shots had been fired, when an immense amount of rocks and earth, loosened by the blast, caved In upon him and crushed him to death. Mr. Hanson was well known In Eureka, I having lived here for about fifteen vears J coming from Fillmore. He was formerly shift boss at the Mammoth. A widow and five children survive. ' I
