A penknife found In tho cemetery a few feet from whero the battered body of 20-ycar-old Theresa Hollander was found was Identified Iden-tified tonight, according to the police. Tho knife formerly was the property of Frank Barlmont, a benchmato of Anthony An-thony Pctran, former sweetheart of Miss Hollander, who has been in jail since the discovery of her body. . Tho knife was lost threo years ago, according to Barlmont, Barl-mont, but when found was sharp and shiny from having been carried Jn a pocket. Miss Hollander will bo burled in St. Nicholas cemetery tomorrow, only a few feet from where her body was found. Hi tho afternoon the coroner's Inquest will be resumed. R. H. Schellhorn, conductor con-ductor on the streel car on which both Miss Hollander and Petras wero seen shortly beforo the murder, confirmed tho statement of Walter Hickman, a negro, that Potraa had ridden a block beyond where tho girl left the car and, after alighting, had run swiftly back. Pctras's young wife spent most of tho day outside her husband's cell. She reiterated re-iterated her faith In him tonight. Louis Hollander, father of the slain girl, swore an oath of vongcancc today as lie stood beside her coffin. "The murderer shall die," Hollander swore in the presence of friends and relatives rel-atives who were gathered In the room. "It he escapes tho law he will not escape es-cape me. All 1 ask is two minutes alone with him and I will cut lilm to pieces, The murder was dcllbemtcly planned and the murderer shall die for It." |
