After an absence of seven yenrs from this city, in which time ho has visited tho" Philippine islands, Japan, China, India, Palestino, J2gypt and mau3' of the islands of tho Pacific, and practically the whole of Eurone with the sole exception of Russia, Rus-sia, Garfield Guuncll. son of Judge Vol-ne3r Vol-ne3r C. Gunnell of tho juvonile court, has returned lo his old home. But tho young man does not expect to tarry long. Tho call of the globe-trotter is too strong, and in a month's time he expects to be on the broad bosom of the Pacific ocean on another two years' junket, in which he will visit Siberia, European ltussia, and, in fact, that other portion of tho habitable globe which he has not already seen. Mr. Gunnell speaks interestingly of his trip. He left Laong on the north coast of the Philippiuo islands six mon I lis ago, and alter reaching New York City spent six weeks on his way homo traveling by easy stages visiting friends and relatives in the United States. He has made quite a handsome collection of curious and rolics from the foreign countries which he has visited, and prizes thorn highly. |
