Show REPUBLICANS CLAIM TO BE GETTING THE COIN WASHINGTON, Oct. 10. The president presi-dent today hold brief political conferences confer-ences with Pearl Wight, Repuolicau national na-tional committeeman from Louisiana, and Elmer Dover, secretar' of. the national na-tional advisory committee. Both brought encouraging reports regarding tho Republican situation. According to Mr. Dover, the campaign contributions arc coming in as favorably as can be expected. Eliminating the con- tribu tions now excluded by law, thoso which thus far have been received are equal, ho said, if not in excess of those received in previous -ears up to this stugo of the campaign. Ho annoqneed that from 75 to 80 per cent of the contributions con-tributions received conic from New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and Pittsburg. Tho letter which had been sent out by Treasurer Sheldon, asking for $50 contributions, had brought one hundred replies in forty-eight hours. |
