The recent announcements that Harry Payno Whitney Whit-ney and Herman B. Duryea would send many of their race horses to England to compete for the rich slakes abroad caused tho widespread report among racegoers that they had deserted tho turf in this country. But this impression impres-sion is not correct. The 3'oung turfmen will havo thoroughbreds for tho local tracks next year. The change of baso for some of the Whitney and Duryo'a race horses is purely an experimental one. |
