Show ROBERTSON WINS II-HONDRED II-HONDRED AUTO RACE Michcner's Car Upsets Xear Finish Fin-ish and Takes Fire; Chauffeurs Chauf-feurs Jump. PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 10. Georgo Robertson, in a Locomobile, today won the 200-milo race over a dangerous eight-mile course in Fairmount park. His tirao waB -1 hours, 28 minutes, 30 seconds. L. Patchke, in an Acme car, finished second in 4: 14:54. Ralph iVEiil-ford. iVEiil-ford. in a Lozier car, was third, and A. C. Mauchcr, in a Peerless, finished fourth. Mulford's time was 4:17:26 and Mnuchor covered tho 200 miles in 4:21:20. After the fourth car crossed tho line tho remaining machines were stopped and did not finish. Sixteen cars started and only 6even or eight survived, tho others falling out for various reasons. There were no scriops accidents. The race was tho principal feature of tho closing day of Founder's week. Half a dozen cars held tho lead at different periods of the race, aud finally final-ly Robertson went in front and wa3 never headed. With him in tho lead there followed a hot race for second position, in which it was destined that neither James Florida, in a Locomobile, nor George Davis, in an Appcrson, leaders lead-ers for tho place, were to finish in that position. Florida was running second, with Davis close up. When Robertson cntcrpd his twenty-fifth and final lap a cheer went up and the crowd settled back to see the fight between Davis and Florida. Tho minutes passed and neither appeared, however, and it wns finally learned that both were out of commission along the course. Then came Patchke in the Acme, and then followed fol-lowed the Peerless and the Lozier fighting fight-ing for third place. They had just gone by Hie grand sland when Robertson shot past a victor, a lap ahead of hiB nearest, competitor. Mirhcncr rau into bad luck. Whilo nearing tho finish on the second lap his car upset and took fire. The car skidded for a short distance, fortunato-ly. fortunato-ly. which gave Michcncr and his assistant assist-ant time lo jump, and they escaped injury.
