Show SENSATIONAL DIVORCE SUIT FILED Ifl OGDEN Charles H. Greenwell, at-Polyg-amist, Seriously Accused by Wife No. 1. Special to Tho Tribune. OGDEN, Oct. 10. Alleging that her husband, Charles II. Greenwell, has twice threatened hor life within tho past two years, Mrs. Margaret Green-well Green-well on Saturday instituted an action for absolute divorce. Greenwell is a partner iu the firm of-tho Greenwell Bros, meat market at 355 Twenty-fourth street, and is now living in polygamy with another wife on Twenty-second street. Mrs. Grcenwoll No. 1 makes sensational sensa-tional charges against her polygamous husband. She says that, ho is violont tempered, quarrelsome and unbearable; that when under the influence of liquor, such condition being habitual, she sa3fs, for the past year, he is dangerous and she fears for her life. Greenwell, sho sa3's, uses vilo and profane language in her presence, and has frequently accused ac-cused her of unchaslity. In- .Tub', 1907, sho declares that, he threatened to shoot her and that ho went down town for a weapon; that she believes he would havo carried out his threat had she not escaped to tho house of a neighbor. Again- last June, she says, ho attacked her and choked her, and she also thinks that her life would havo been taken on this occasion had she not freed herself and got out of tho way. Sho says they wero married in this cit3' April 10, 1S77, and that his cruel treatment has extended over a period of five years. Thero are five children as a result of tho union, three of them being minors. Mrs. Greenwell asks lu addition to a divorce, the convoyance to her by tho court of tho home" place, valued at $2500, attorney's fees and the custody of tho youngest of the minor children. |
