Show BREEDEN GIVES OPINION TO EMERY COUNTY CLERK In response to an inqury from Mark Tuttlo of Castle Dale, clerk of Emery c ou n try Attorney General Breoden handed down the following opinion Mon-d:vy Mon-d:vy afternoon relating to the registration registra-tion of voters: I have your favor of the 10th Inst., In which you submit for mv official, opinion the following: "Will it he necessary for a complete new registration this fall?" In reply, I beg to direct your attention to section 810. Compiled Laws of 1907, which. In so far as material lire, reads as follows: "County Clerk . to prepare register of voters. Prior to the time of registering voters at each general election, the County Coun-ty Clerk, of each county of the Stale, shall prepare an offlcinl register of the voters of each election district of his county, by making a list in alphabetical order of all persons who voted at the last general municipal election, as shown by the checked copies of the official register used, or the poll list made, at such election, elec-tion, which official register shall be delivered de-livered to the registry agent of the district dis-trict at least thirty days prior to tho first day of registration, and shall be revised re-vised by adding the names of all persons registered on the proper days prior to election." In view of this statute, your inquiry must be answered in the negative, and you are so advised. |
