Morgan of 76S Fifth avenue, av-enue, a bricklayer, while suffering from alcoholic dementia Monday night, armed himself with a revolver and a Winchester rifle, drovo his terrorized family of ten children into the streets with threats of deatli to them, and defied de-fied tho police when they were called. Morgan returned homo early in tho evening crazed by drink, and immedi-atel.y immedi-atel.y started upon his rampage. After driving his children out into the streets he attacked the furniture, china and Slate ware and devastated the house, re-ucing re-ucing the furniture to kindling wood almost and smashing plates and china-ware china-ware into bits. The police wero notified aud Patrolman Patrol-man IT. D. Lyon was sent to subdue the violent man. He found Morgan lying upon tho bed with the revolver and Winchester in either hand. He defied the big patrolman, declaring that he was in his own house and that his conduct con-duct was his own affair, and ho was not molested. |
