HITCHCOCK PREPARES TO OPEN GREAT CAMPAIGN NEW YORK, July 13. Frank II. Hitchcock, chairman of the Republican national committee, today selected quarters quar-ters for lhe committee in the Metropolitan Metro-politan Lifo building hore. Tho active presidential campaign will be begun on August 1, when tho committee will open headquarters. Mr. Hitchcock said tonight: to-night: . "It is my intention to spend most of (ho time during the campaign in this city and direct the fight from here. Mr, Taft will not make 11113 succchcs until un-til after the first of September; at least that was my understanding when I snw him in Hot Springs. I expect to sec Mr. Sherman in Utica late tomorrow, aud will be in the city again on Wednesday to see several politicians who have indicated a desire to discuss mntters connected with the approaching campaign. 1 shall return to Washington Washing-ton on Wednesday evening.'1
