Show i Bob Chapoose Member Of Dixie Boxing Team (Late for last Week) Those who enjoy boxing will have an opportunity to indulge their taste for the manly art of self-defense at a "smoker" on April Ap-ril 25 at 8 o'clock p.m. in the Dixie College gymnasium. An excellent card has been pre pared, in which participants from Dixie College will be matched against opponents from the College Col-lege of South Utah, according to Earl Grant and Earl Thompson, co-chairmen for the occasion. The main bouts will feature Bob Chapoose a Uintah Basin athlete, ath-lete, Dixie vs. LaMar Clark, C.S.U.; Fred Lundin, Dixie, vs. Bob Mc-Call, Mc-Call, C.S.U.;. Dick Prince, Dixie, vs. LaVar Short, C.S.U.; and Truman Tru-man Jepson, Dixie, vs. Norm Ath-erly. Ath-erly. C.S.U. There will be a number num-ber of theor bouts. LaMar Clark, who hails from Cedar City, is one' of the outstanding outstand-ing boxers of this area. He won his bouts in the regional Golden Gloves Tournament held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and went on to compete in the National A.A.U. boxing contests. Proceeds from the "smoker" will go into the Dixie College Lettermen's fund toward the purchase pur-chase of athletic packets. |
