Show Junior High Girls' Day Is Planned For Friday Plans are ' complete for Girls'' Day at Roosevelt Jr. High School tomorrow, Friday, May 4, announced an-nounced Mrs. Virginia Nielsen, home economics teacher and FHA Club advisor. Themed to "April Showers," activities ac-tivities for the day will begin with an assembly' at 11:00 a.m. for the student body and mothers of the girls. At 12:30 p.m. a special luncheon will be served in the lunchroom for the girls and their mothers, which will be prepared by the lunchroom cooks. One of the highlights of the' day will be the fashion show, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the school gym. Clothes made by the girls during the year in home-making will be modeled. Another interesting feature of the day's program will be the dance revue at 2:30 p.m. given by the physical education classes under the direction of Rhoda Rudy. Besides witnessing these planned plan-ned events, parents are invited to make special effort to visit Room 15, where displays of work and achievements from each class will' be on exhibition. In charge of this phase of the program is Wanda Riggle. Also cooperating with the activity ac-tivity are members of the Student Roundup staff and their advisor, Lenore Hutchings, who have published pub-lished a special edition for the occasion. Twenty-two girls in the Home Economics Club have worked diligently dil-igently the past few weeks under the direction of the following committee com-mittee chairmen to make' the day one of success and enjoyment for their mothers: Fashion show, Judy Bastian; refreshments, Connie Fenn; dance, Helen Anderton; decorations, dec-orations, Carol Ann Nielsen; assembly, as-sembly, Karen Woodard; posters, Jeanne Allred; and programs, Susan Su-san Crapo. Don Crittenden has contributed many hours of his time in helping with the' basic decorations in the gym. Special activities for the boys, including a track meet are under the direction of Coach Burr EI-dredge. |
