Show Myton School News Mrs. Thomas' 5th grade's food sale was highly successful. Proceeds Pro-ceeds from the sale were used to purchase 22 additional harmonicas for their Harmonica Band. The class . was very pleasantly surprised sur-prised when Bruce Fitzgerald treated them to pop-sickles Monday Mon-day as the class had used Hi-Land Dairy trucks in the room mural. The fifth graders appreciated his thoughtfulness and generosity. x Mrs. Hancock's 4th grade is studying about the State of Utah. Each student made a cover for his Utah project material. The following fol-lowing is a poem by Cleora Tanner, Tan-ner, entitled "Utah Parks:" In Utah there are many parks; There's big ones and little ones, too. I would like to go and visit them all, And tell about them to you. But -since it cannot be that way, I want for you to see The pictures I've collected And put upon display. Down in the southern part of the state There is something very, very great It's Bryce's Park, you've guessed by now, To get there, you travel many a mile In my book you'll find one mistake: mis-take: I've borrowed one park from another an-other state. It's Grand Canyon you must know, It's in Arizona, not in Utah, oh no! I want to tell you a little more About Bryce's Park I mentioned before; Queen Victoria stands high and tall, And looks real white from the rock's high wall. Fifty-five square miles is the size of the park, And it's so rough you better not go in the dark. It has been called the Sculptor's workshop. It has so much design because the ages of erosion have worked on it all the time. Zion's National Park is full of beauty, too. I'm not sure about springs there, and I don't think there's a zoo; But there is the Weeping Rock across from Angel's Landing, And the Observation Point where people are often standing. I am going to end my story here, About the parks today; But I hope that we can visit them As we go along Life's way. The Myton School Spring Festival Fes-tival has been postponed until May 10th or 11th, depending on other school activities. |
