Show DUP Met At Haueter Home The' Daughters of Utah Pioneers regular monthly meeting was held Wednesday, April 25 at the home of Mrs. Bernice Haueter. Mrs. Mattie Mortensen, captain, conducted' con-ducted' the meeting and the lesson, les-son, "The Price of Pioneering," was presented by Mrs. Thelma Linck. Twelve members and one guest were' present to enjoy the meeting meet-ing and the delicious refreshments served by the hostess. They were Mrs. Rose Gilbert, Mrs. Lydia Nielson, Mrs. Erma Harris, Mrs. Sarah Brokaw, Mrs. Afton Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Beatrice' Dennis, Mrs. Linck, Mrs. Mortensen, Mrs. Zora Church, Mrs. Emma Tanner and Mrs. Jennie Tuttle. Next regular meeting will be held May 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Church. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stephens and family are enjoying a visit from Mrs. Stephens' brother, M. Sgt. Henry Kaufman, of Ft. Bliss, Wash. Other guests were Mr. Stephens' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Stephens, of Rifle, Colo., who spent the weekend' here. Jay Jenkins spent two days here visiting relatives. He brought his mother, Mrs. Pearl Jenkins, to her home in Roosevelt, after she spent several weeks; in Othello, Wash, at his home. Jay left Saturday, Sat-urday, accompanied by his father-in-law, James Giles, who will make his home in Washington with his daughter and son-in-law during the summer months. Clifford Faucett underwent an emergency appendectomy in a Salt Lake City hospital last week. He is reported as steadily improving. Mr. and' Mrs. Clarence Murray are new residents in this district and are now settled on the E. A Call farm west of town. Weekend guests at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Edwards Ed-wards were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Jenkins of Browning, Montana and their daughter and granddaughter, grand-daughter, Mrs. Golden Butterfield and Kathy of Herriman, Utah Mr. and Mrs. Syerl Dennis rushed rush-ed their small daughter, Irene, to the Roosevelt Hospital Monday afternoon, af-ternoon, where the little Miss was given medical attention. At this writing she is resting well and will receive further examination. |
