Show Bertha Angus Violet Gentry Seminary Presents Sunday Program Members of the Seminary classes from Roosevelt gave the program in Sacrament meeting on Sunday as follows: talk, "Reverence," "Rever-ence," James Curry; talk, "Ten Commandments," Laura Fredrick-son; Fredrick-son; talk, "Sabbath Day," Carol Gene Hall; piano solo, Carol Lee Woodward; vocal solo, Fay Hullin-ger, Hullin-ger, accompanied by Carol Lee Woodward; closing remarks, by teacher, Lyle Hintze. Mrs. Florence Percival Wright and son, Clifford, who have been visiting the past month with her parents left Thursday for Salt Lake City, where she will visit with her sister and family. She will then visit in Prove with a brother and sister and families and then with her mother-in-law in Pleasant Grove before leaving for her home in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Stone received re-ceived word that a granddaughter had been born to their daughter, Gwen, and son-in-law. Dee Drol-linger Drol-linger in Salt Lake City, Thursday, April, 26. Their two boys, Lamar and Lynn, are here with their grandparents for two or three weeks. Evan Percival attended the Republican Re-publican convention in Salt Lake City, Friday as one of the representatives repre-sentatives from Duchesne' County. The officers and teachers of Primary attended the stake pre-naration pre-naration meeting in Roosevelt Sat urday. ' I Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Webb I we're Salt Lake City visitors on Thursday. Mrs. Minnie Tromley, who has spent most of the winter in St. George, arrived here i Saturday to make her home. She is an aunt of Joshua Timothy and Arvilla Lemon. Lem-on. Wendell Johnson, Seminary principal, prin-cipal, was a visitor at Sunday School. Garrett Stone went to Salt Lake City, Saturday. Bob Goodrich and DeRae Hall accompanied the Seminary class and were visitors at Sacrament meeting. BIRTHDAY PARTY Ila Vay Lemon celebrated her 16th birthday Sunday, when some of her friends gathered for the occasion. Refreshments we're served ser-ved and games and visiting filled out the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Benson left Friday for Orderville, Utah, to attend at-tend the funeral of Mrs. Benson's cousin, Jack Crofts. They returned home Sunday. Mrs. Archie Benson accompanied them on this trip. Mrs. Edith Gentry called on Mrs. Myrtle Nelson of Upalco Wednesday. James Bacon of Roosevelt was an Ioka visitor Friday. Mrs. Charles Hardman of Murray Mur-ray visited in Ioka recently. O. A. Dart and son, Ralph, transacted business in Salt Lake, Friday. Paul Nunley of Salt Lake City, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Spencer. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Washburn and family and Mrs. Olive Soren-sen Soren-sen visited relatives in Spanish Fork and Salt Lake' over the weekend. Glenna Dart came in from Mt. Pleasant to spend the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dart. Dr. Dan Dennis of Roosevelt was in Ioka on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Anderson and family of Salt Lake City were guests of Lee's mother, Mrs. Emil Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dart and children of Bridgeland were dinner guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Dart, Sunday. |
