Show 'TRAFFIC fflDHHGE VIOLATORS IE BNFJ A CARD Through an Idea obtained while visiting vis-iting the Salt Lake police headquarters headquar-ters several weeks ago, Sergeant T. H. Blackburn of the local police department de-partment has evolved a neat system of getting violators of the traffic laws into court without the necessity of informing in-forming them by word of mouth that they are wanted. The system is one of cards, upon which Is printed the section of the law to which the-alleged violation pertains. A stub, on which is the namo of tho car owner or driver and the state license li-cense number if one is attached is detached when the card is given to the occupant. If the car is unoccupied the main portion of the card is left in it, thus avoiding the necessity on the part of the officer to wait for the driver. Should this fall to bring the dosired party into court, the officers can locate' lo-cate' him by use of the information on tho stub. The card system was placed in operation op-eration yesterday. |
