Show oo 'CONSPIRATORS ARE ARRESTED SN TEXAS SAN ANGELO, Tex., May 25. Six farm laborers and a railroad section foreman, all of whom have admitted, according to officers, that they are members of the Farmers' and Laborers' Labor-ers' Protective Association of America, were late today taken Into custody by Sheriff Cowart and a party of rangers jit Fort Chadbourne, Coke county, for suspected seditious conspiracy against the government in connection with an alleged conspiracy to forcibly resist conscription. The men were taken to Robert Lee, Texas, tonight to await further investigation. They have not been indicted. DALLAS, Tex., May 25. G. T. Bryant Bry-ant of Lueders, Texas, official state organizer of the Farmers' and Laborers' Labor-ers' Protective Association of America, Ameri-ca, who was tonight brought hero from Abilene, Texas, and placed in jail by federal authorities on a charge of seditious se-ditious conspiracy against the government, govern-ment, asserted that the American flag is ono of the omblems of the organization organiza-tion and "the constitution specifically states that each member shall stand ready to defend the United States against invasion." Bryant vehemently denied that it was the purpose of the organization to oppose conscription and stated that the constitution of tho organization was open to anyone who cares to investigate in-vestigate it. The organization, according to Bryant, Bry-ant, is partisan and guarantees to even' ev-en' member full political and religious liberty; the constitution against any member undertaking any sort of cooperative co-operative work in violation of state or federal laws. The alleged conspirator conspir-ator stated that no obligation of tho organization was In any way disloyal to the United States |
