W, EVAHS TO BE Itt 1 OGDEN LECTURES News that Dr. Arthur Walwyn Evans Ev-ans will deliver his famous lecture, "What America Means to Me," on June 8th, the opening day of the Chautauqua, Chautau-qua, comes with great interest to Ogden Og-den people. Tho subject chosen by Dr. Evans will be highly appreciated by local people because of the patriotic patrio-tic sentiment which' it carries throughout; through-out; in other words it is a typical Ogden Og-den subject, as expressing views of a former British leader. Dr. Evans has traveled extensively. He has visited fifteen countries and lived in six of them, and after being a close student of industrial and social so-cial problems in each of these, he has finally become a citizen of the United States. During the six years while he has been in America, he has made a close study of American patriotism. The ability of Dr. Evans in expressing his ideas, both politically and socially, has been shown by his many associates associ-ates in Europe. He had the intimate friendship of Lord Kitchener and Roberts, Rob-erts, General Booth, Joseph Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, John Ruskin, Gladstone, Edward VII," Queen Victoria and others. Dr. Evans is probably the most prominent of Welch orators and Is the nephew of David Lloyd-George. The present international situation and the extensive travel of Dr. Evans makes his subject, "What America Means to Me," of intense interest to every citizen citi-zen of Ogden. Dr. Evans has delivered various lectures in six countries, which have been attended by men of such prominence as those mentioned above. During the past year he has lectured In almost three hundred cities and towns in this country and Canada. His presence in Ogden will be an achievement of the Ellison-White Chautauqua. i |
