Show COMPROMISE ON CENSOR MEASURE WASHINGTON. May 26. A now compromise provision for newspapor censorship was agreed upon today by the conferees on tho espionage bill. They regarded it as greatly modifying the ono agreed upon yesterday. The now draft proposes that congress con-gress shall prohibit publication of military mil-itary information, but not that regarding regard-ing "equipment" of tho armed forces, and instead of authorizing the president presi-dent to make censorship rules and regulations, reg-ulations, confers upon him merely the power to permit publication of matter prohibited by tho section. |
