Show INDIANS TO HOT 0. S. FDR LAND MANSFIELD, Ore , May 26. Oregon coast Indians, remnants of the Coos, Umpqua and Siuslaw tribes, havo elected Jimmy Johnson of Reedport, Ore., chief and havo organized to fight their claim of over $12,000,000 against the United States government for land they assert was taken from them in defiance of the treaty of empire signed by Indian and government representatives representa-tives here August 30, 1855 George Wasson, a graduate of Carlisle, Car-lisle, whose forefathers were full blooded members of tho Coos tribe, has been delegated by the Indians here to go to Washington and press their claim before congress or the Indian commissioner.
