Show Social Services Clinic The Utah Department of Social Services is now sponsoring a clinic that .will test children for lead poisoning. According to Dr. Peter C. VanDyke, director, Family Health Services, lead poisoning may occur when a child eats paint, plaster or dirt containing lead. "The testing entails a simple blood test," he said, adding that lead poison does not occur very often in Utah. He noted that often symptoms of lead poisoning resemble those of other illnesses such as the flu. Symptoms include persistent per-sistent vomiting, constipation, con-stipation, listlessness, headache and sudden Ix'havioral changes. |
