Show Averett places First in Golf Tourney Kevin Averett fired consistent rounds of 73 and 73 for a tcAal of 146 and a first place finish in the Painted Hills Men's Association club championship held this past weekend. The 36 holes of play were a little tougher for the rest of the field as Art Pryor with a 156, 10 strokes behind, finished in second place. Pryor had rounds of 74 and 82. Third place honors went to Wes Higbee with rounds of 82 and 75 for a total of 157, just one stroke off the second place pace. Low net winner was Curt Peterson with a 60-63 with secondplace honors going to Lew Chamberlain with a card of 62-64. In third place was Jay Commander with matching 66's. Gale Parcell's, golf pro, at the Painted Hills Golf Course announced that the Amateur will be played this weekend. Entrants from throughout the state are expected to enter the annual classic. Parcell indicated, however, that there are still open spots and those interested in-terested can sign up by calling the Pro Shop. |
