Show ' :.Y N -1 v 1 AtJ- Rachel Jones dies; Services held Rachel Stevens Jones, age 80, died Saturday, October 7, 1978 in the Valley View Medical Center. Born October Oc-tober 2, 1898 in North Fork, Kane County to Charles Franklin Stevens Jr. and Aurelia Spencer. Married Willard Walker Jones March 12, 1924 in Belvedere Gardens, California. Later the marriage was solemnized in the St. George Temple. He preceded her in death August 8, 1975. She was a member of the LDS Church. She had held many positions, Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Relief Society Visiting Teacher and supervisor, Relief Society magazine representative. 'She loved art, poetry, and the mountains. She made many quilts and was a good seamstress. She is survived by a son, John Franklin Jones of Enoch, 2 daughters, Mrs. Henry (Betty) Heaton and Barbara Lee Shandrew both of Enoch. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren step-grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren, a brother Edson Stevens of West Covina, California, 3 sisters, Maude S. Jones Coleman of Enterprise, Emily Quinn of Hurricane and Virginia Bashaw of Oroville, California. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 11, 1978 at 1:30 p.m. in the Enoch L.D.S. Ward Chapel. Burial in the Enoch City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury & Graff Mortuary. |
